On the left bottom picture you can see the silver/chrome looking box, one of my HID ballast. I mounted them on the bumper support.

HIDs on.

HIDs off.

I haven't used my HIGH beams for months.

This is the light pattern. Obviously, this proves projector HIDs are FAR superior than this set up.

Does the temperature of the colour affect how much light is put out? EG: 10K would put out more light than 8K.

the brightest is 4300K i believe and it gets dimmer and bluer the more the K temp goes up. after 10000K the light turns purple

mine are still bright as hell for 10000K

Sorry no I dont...

But as said below the higher the number the more blue it has in it and if you get too high it will be purple.. I love my 8000k!

Where are all of you buying them from? Anyone using a set less than 100$ from ebay there seems to be plenty?

Just a FYI, yes higher temperature = more blue and eventually purple, but not brighter. I believe the brightest spot is around 4300k-6000k.

Well the projector housing uses the same type of bulbs so you could just get the hids now and get the projector lights later... right?
