is the freeway just a bad place to catch a bike in a race or something?

depends on the bike. Most modern bikes will turn 10's off the showroom with a non-squid rider

You don't make enough HP to really beat very many bike either. They have a good HP to weight ratio.

I love sneeking up on bikes and smacking them down. Especially 650s and 750s.They are like WTF?? But there are a bunch of really fast 9sec bikes out there.

well it confirmed one thing for me today: I am NOT the fastest vehicle out there on the road! Maybe....just maybe... I was the fastest torch red on 249 in a 1 mile radius of Cypresswood today between 2:25 and 2:30pm though ... even that is a little iffy

Yep! And the rider mod is most key, far more so than the driver mod. I've ripped new GSXR1000s on my old CBR1100xx "blackbird" in the 1/4 based on this. I'm also able to keep within a couple lengths on these similar bikes in most cases. Your car may actually keep up above 120 due to aeros but from a normal highway speed roll/punch, most cars are just toast. People just don't realize how quick bikes are, especially liter bikes, anywhere in the 0-120 range. It just takes a decent rider to see the good results.

As a reference, I ripped a C6 Z06 from 30-90 on my 'Bird -- with a passenger...in one gear too high. And my 'Bird is a number of years past being the fastest bike out there. Power-to-weight rules all starting at anything under 100. Over 100, aeros REALLY start to play a role.

this guy must have known how to ride because before we ran he was doing wheelies and stuff. Anyway, yall are nuts for getting on bikes in my opinion I couldn't imagine going that fast in something I wasn't sitting "in"! It has always made me wonder why they let bikes go so incredibly fast at the track, when all you need to do is run 11's in a CAR for a roll cage!

I love when cars want to play and Im on the bike, although I have a CBR1000RR Repsol, with a ton of HRC parts from japan. Most, even highly modded cars, will not hang with a bike. Especially if the rider of the bike, knows how to ride.

750 whp on a vette against a 750 or 1000 cc bike should be a very close race. a car that has over 750 whp should have no problem taking a completely stock bike. i raced a 2000 or so year gsxr750 from a 40 roll and he killed me but when we stoped at the light and i said lets go from a dig. it was a diffrent story i let off around 130 and by then he was closing in on me. and my car is slow but from a dig when you jump out 4 cars on a bike it make a world of diffrence. if the bike cant keep it down. but if you have a high whp car there should not be any problem smoking a bike. i know your car from a low gear against a 600 cc bike should be a close race. you may pull him on the top end if its stock.

No car touches liter bikes. Especially out in the open. These things do 9.xx in the quarter at 143 mph. Oh yes thats stock. Lets not even talk about modified bikes.
