Default Volant induction VS aftermarket lid

I am running a RK sport lid with RK SS hood. Will a volant induction draw more air?? Anyone with set up? There is also the K&N FIPKE. Comments please, anyone

No one buys it because it is cool looking, but it promises no real gians over aftermarket lids. This is an entire replacement for the intake, so for no gain, why go through the extra work? If I'm not mistaken it is heat shealded so you would think it would produce more power, but I don't know, anyone? I like it but I think it was made for a sure fit with the STOCK SS HOOD. Don't know if it will work with the RK Sport Hood, I never have seen it.

Rk sport hood is a duplicate of the stock SS hood. Still would like to hear from someone who has a Volant
In the adds they said up to 23hp gain. Is that true??

About the hood, are you positive the RK sport hood is identical to production, as SLP makes the hood for the production cars??

Are they 100% identical? Hmmm hard to tell. next to each other I couldn't see the Difference. The Ram air design is the same. SLP quality maybe a little better, but the RK weighs a little less. However its a direct bolt on with reimforcements. The shape of the scoop looks the same unlike the suncoast creations one. I have a 35th aniversary stripe kit on and it fits like a glove.

Not real sure about the Volant for an SS, but I just took mine off my Ws6. I did not notice any performance improvement over a lid. Also, the Volant box is made for a regular TA not a Ws6 and it does not seal complete to the Ws6 hood. It is louder then a lid. The main reason I took mine off was with the hood baffels removed, the filters got dirty very fast.
Don't think Volant will be going out of business if they don't sell many Fbody set-ups, they make a system for every truck out there.

I have a volant. It sure does look cool and in looking at it, you'd assume it would be extremely beneficial in terms of airflow. I actually dynoed 1hp higher with the filters on than with them off. I'm actually looking to sell mine soon. It worked fine, but I'm going for more of a carbon fiber look under the hood so I'll be getting a lid. Now I just need to get a hold of the entire lower intake system.

It works great with the hood open on the dyno, but once you close the hood, away go the gains.

A lid is proven. Get a lid.
