Default Subs and amp

So today me and a bud are going to install my two 10" and my amp I have. I also have a Alpine 9883 HU, now I am pretty sure I can wire my system to my HU so that I can turn it on and off by using my radio. When I push the volume button in, it actually says " subwoofer" making me think I can adjust it fro 0 (off) or up to +7 or w/e it goes too..

So my question to you guys is what wires from my system do I need to hook up to my HU to make it function like I want? I was thinking the "REMO" wire but I am not sure...also any tips on making my system installation easier would be greatly appreciated..

Boy I sure have asked a lot of questions in car audio lately..haha

All you should have to do is install the deck like normal, run a remote wire from the deck to the amp & run RCA's from the deck to the amp. Thats it as far as the deck install.

For your amp run a short ground from somewhere in the trunk area(i used the spare tire well), hook up your RCA's, hook up your remote wire, run a fused power wire from the battery to the amp & your ready to run your speaker wire from the box to the amp.

Basic sub/amp installs are pretty straight forward. It can get complicated later when you have more than one amp, distrubution blocks & so on.

so just pull it out, hook up a remote wire, RCA's & put it back in. Then run those to whatever location you want. that will have everything from the deck itself you need ran to your amp location.

Why are you having to buy a remote wire? What are you using to install the amp? A standard amp kit should have come with the remote wire already. It's the thin (16-18ga) blue wire. If you don't have an amp kit to install your amplifier I highly recommend you pick one up as using other types of wire may not work as well.

I am going to use a amp kit, I didn't know it came with the wire :o. So if I hook up the remote wire I should be able to turn my system on and off from my HU?

That's the standard way to install it. If it doesn't turn on and off with the radio you've done something wrong.
Also if you don't use a remote wire the amp won't turn on anyway. Power to the battery, ground a short distance from the amp, remote turn on wire are the three you must have hooked up to operate the amp properly.

also unless you bought really good rca's run them on oppisite side's power & remote and rca's on the other... also the 0-7 on your HU is for sub gain 0 meaning less bass and 7 being highest

Also, how do you go about running the amp cables, like the ones I have to hook up to the battery run them all the way to the trunk to the amp. Basically, got them hooked up to the battery..then got stuck..can't actually get the wires into the car to run it under the carpet and what not...I am not very good with electronics...

First of all I hope it isn't hooked to the battery yet. Just in the engine bay by the battery. The grommet for entry through the firewall is located behind your PCM (computer) on the passenger side. You need to remove it in order to gain access behind it.
How many wires are you refering to. Should just be the power wire that you have to run through there for the amp.

Well tonight me and a bud took on the task! We got the power wire ran all the way from the battery to the amp(not hooked up yet though) and hooked the RCA's to the HU and ran them to the back as well along with the remote wire. Everything is right by the amp just need my box and hook up the speaker and I am done! I think!
