Spool difference between pt101 and 106
I dont think there would be much of a spool difference but I thought i would ask before i bought one. I am about ready to start buying stuff and the nitrous motor is now out of the car.

i am going cheap on the motor. i wont have more then 4k in it complete. The turbo stuff all added up does get expensive. I am doing everything else top notch so later when i do a expesive motor everything else will be good to go already. The car is already setup except for a 25.5 and chute. It only has a 6 point in it now.

Go 106 and don't look back. There's guys going fast in 326 and 360cid ferd motors with the 106. May want to try starting a thread on the turbo forums as those guys see a lot more thumper setups and know what truly works. Don Bailey would also be a good person to talk to.

I cant remember exactly. I thi the wheels are 10 wide with a 5inch back spacing. The rear is narrow almost 8 inches or right over 8 inches i cant remember. Midwect chassis did all of it with the tubs.

So what your research come up with so far about running a 106mm with a 370ci LSx engine, will it work? Do folks think you can keep the rpms below say 7000, 7500, or 8000 rpms and still make all the power? I bet folks are advocating 10:1 compression.

My experience with a 101-106mm Turbo is that you need 1 of 2 things with a limited cube engine. 1) Compression to spool the turbo down low. Or 2) RPM to use the boost up top for power.
I know some of the New 106mm Turbos have revised wheels to help with the spooling issue. Those turbos are not cheap at all. The older 101-106mm turbos are some slow spooling suckers, but when they come on line they get NASTY fast.
