Largest engine for maggie 112?
I currently have a magnacharger 112 with a stock bottom end. I'm running TEA stage 1.5 heads. If I decided to upgrade my shortblock and run the same heads, whats the largest cubic inch I should get? I doubt this small maggie would be capable of supplying enough air for a large engine. I know I would still keep compression high because that's what works best with the maggie. About 10lbs of boost and maybe add some nitrous later. I may just end up with a forged 347 for the price.

I would say a 383 would be pushing it unless you do a bunch to the blower to make it flow more air. Like 90mm inlet and tb, and 100mm maf ect. Also camshaft has a big play in it also. You can spin it higher, but after a point it shows it is making more boost but the engine just wont make any more power. The mp122 is what you would want to go up too, The CFM that it flows is much greater and even sounds alot more like an supercharger should sound like.
For reference, a maxed out mp112 with 2.6 pully 90mmtb on the current 454 in my caddy only made 2 psi of boost. With the maxed out custom mp122 im making 15.. MAXXED out. If i put on any smaller of a pulley the hp drops dramatically because it just runs out of airflow.
Even though on my 2003 cobra, it has a m112 on it and i put a F1a on it with the m112 still on it and it made 30ish lbs of boost and MASSIVE power. "For 2 pulls before pulling the m112 off and left the f1a on it." So that was a good test to just show that the mp112" and m112" just need to have a better inlet or forced air into them to make them flow more cfm. Then i took the cobra back to Brenspeed for a dyno where it pulled 620 hp with the F1a only making 10psi @6000 rpm... For a gain of 250 hp with the blower, and sulivan intake setup.
I have in the garage a 454 lsx just like in the caddy but it will be a compound blower setup using the f1r i have and a mp112 just to see what kind of boost levels i can hit without killing the mp112 case. Then i will put on the spare mp122 on it and see what it takes to kill the lsx block but that will be in the spring probably. Winter suxs...

With the 383 you will have to be running a bigger diameter crank pully and a 2.6-2.8 pully for that same amount of boost probably. But with a 2.6 you will have belt slip depending on your belt config. A smaller camshaft will help but just knock down on the power you would be normally getting N/A. A 230ish duration 588ish lift on a 115 cam would be close for the supercharger and those heads.

I'm running a forged 347, 2.9 pulley, 243 heads with 72cc chambers and my cam is 226/234 .598/.599 on a 117 with an A4 and 3:42 gears. I'm currently working with Ed from LM Speed to get my tune figured out, but I'm hoping for close to 515rwhp. I know someone with my same heads and cam with an M6 and 3:90 gears that put down 528rwhp with a 3.4 or 3.2 pulley.

Yeah I remember, he said last time it was dynoed that he thought there was still more in it yet. I don't want to completley ring it out on the dyno, though 'cause this is my DD. I don't want to run on the ragged edge of the tune, just close to it.

Well I went backwards on my setup. My block was the culprit from the get go. Once we got it all straight the damn oil pump **** and took out the #3 bearing and my patience. SO new block, new pistons, you get the picture.
Not meaning to highjack of course though. But I ditched the cam, headers, heads and went with a OR Pipe, Stock heads, and Z06 Cam. I JUST got the motor turning again since Oct after the oil pump went out. I need some massive tuning now but with the weather and everything else I doubt it will happen soon. But I am gonna try.

I am running stock LS1 heads with CC 918 springs. I plan on running nitrous in mine down the road maybe. I will be running the 2.9" I have on there now. No sense in changing it yet I will be installing the Valet Switch this weekend for the maggie and I just finally got the heated seats and boost gauge all wired and installed lol. I had the forged pistons installed by a shop locally that builds some damn good motors. He cost me though. Punched it out .005 and had the 3.905 -4cc Mahle Pistons from the last block that were still good installed in the new"ish" block.
