Default Comp 987 springs....

I called one of the leading LS1 cylinder head vendors last week and was told that the Comp 987s are not a very good spring. After looking on the Comp web site their catalog said that the 987s were only recommended to a .500" lift cam. Any input?

121# @ 1.800
388# @ 1.200

Should be good to .600 lift. Coil bind is 1.150.

I don't think that .002 thousandths is going to be a problem. I do think .630 would be as you would be within .020 of coil bind. Who ever told you .630 was wrong unless they were set up at a higher installed height than 1.800. Of course then you lose load.
