Default Timing Tuner retard function question

So if I have my base @ 2 and my WOT @ 3 (5 degrees total)... do I need to turn my retard to -6 (6 on the dial) or just to -1 (1 on the dial) for 1 degree of retard when the nitrous is activated?

The RTD **** should be turned to -6 for what you are trying to do. The nitrous is activated at wot which means your total timing will be 3 base + 2 wot or 5 degrees of advance.

What Rob said.
But I have to ask...why are you running 5 degrees advanced? Seems a bit much...especially if your on a stock tune.

Well I can think of two reasons why you'd need 5 degrees advance. I have an 02 and they have low max timing advance from the factory (like 23 degrees). Also after tuning with a maft my max timing was decreased (richened up the base setting causes this) so you'd need to compensate with the timing tuner. I actually have the timing tuner adding 6 degrees at wot (3 at cruise 3 at wot). Im removing 4 degrees with the rtd setting. This gives me 28 degrees max advance NA and on the juice i have 24 degrees max advance.

Wow...I wasnt aware 02s had such low timing. Do you guys see good power gains with a few extra degrees?

I personally haven't dyno'd since I got the timing tuner but id bet you'd see maybe 15-20 flywheel horses. Anybody have dyno numbers with maybe a hypertech tune on an 02 or something?

No dyno numbers after, but I hope to someday soon. I got a noticeable difference, but kind of like going to a K&N or similar type of mod. I mostly got it for it's nitrous perks

Thanks for the confirmation about the settings guys!
