We run rectangle truck coils on the new cars. But have gone mid/low 8's on stock LS1 coils. Spinning the motor over 7500rpm and 25+psi.

Stockers all the way. The shop has taken more MSD coils out of cars due to problems with them, replaced them with stocker coils without any problems. Still running stock coils on my twin turbo SS.

I can't speak with personal experience but from what prople tell me and what I've researched I agree with this man. Stockers for the win! Spend money elsewhere!

the coils will work (or are the same more or less), you will just need to buy the brackets, they're like $30 if i remember correctly, as i had to swap some of that stuff over on my car the first time i did a head swap on it...(since my car is a '98 as well)

stock ones are fine and i've yet to see problems with them, my buddy's '98 mod motor cobra with an S400 making 700'ish to the tire and going low 9's is running stock LS1 coils with a FAST system and homebuilt coil driver...

MSD's might look cool, but it looks even cooler when you hide the coils and get cool valve covers

I'm still running my original 98 coils, I just bought the 99+ brackets new and used the 98 coil harness above the bracket and it works fine.

MSD may look kool but what a waste of $$$ This past year i saw the procharger pro mod at the super chevy show and as i was looking at it it knoticed it had stock truck coils. So i pointed them out and said hey those are the 6.0 truck coils and he looked at me funny and said yeah. He said they tested every coil out and they are the best ones by far! I have been told b4 that the stock truck coils were the best but damn this really let me no the truth. he also Said that all stock LSx coils put out more spark the the MSD coils.

No, the picture is my car. Already have them, and they work perfect. I hear the arguement that so and so said that they are not good. I hear this about a lot of parts. We'll see. They are working perfect on my car, and are dyno proven. I only put about 2k miles a year on, so I may never discover their longevity....
