Well, I am a local GTO parts installer. Have installed about 24 sets of long tube headers. That is the fastes way. Got the install time down to about 2.5-3 hours total. And the only set I have yet to install is SW. But they aren't that far fron the Kooks type LT's. So I can't see much of a differance in the time if any at all. Those stupid Pacesetters take a little extra time due to the fitment problems and cutting and fitting other parts.

I have installed Dynatech a couple of times ('04's) and SW once ('05). All went in from the top. With two people, it usually took us about 2.5 hours from jacking up the car to dropping it back down. The last car was the SW and it took about 2 hours. Get faster with more practice
But the Dynatech install manual is a pretty good. You can find it somewhere over at ls1gto.com by doing a search.

i got lt sw i love them and wouldn't go any other way, they are catless and sound sick. the passanger side goes on soo easy but the drivers side is a pain, as long as you take everything off that you have to its not a big deal, just time consuming. On an 04 you have to disconnect the steering rack completely and the ps lines and slid it in from the top. good luck you wont regret it.
while your doing it before you put on the midpipes just start it up for a second to hear it with open headers and you will be amazed

I installed both sides from the top. (Stainless Works)
Easiest thing was to loosen the top bolt on the engine mounts and jack the motor up. DON'T jack it up from the pan. Use a 2x4 on the jack and push up under the mount on the motor.

Even if you dont have stainless works I used dynatechs instructions to install my kooks and did it on my back in a driveway in 6 hours with lunch breaks. Divide that 6 hrs by the 450 u will pay to have a shop do it and u saved your self 75$ an hour.
