Default GTO or z28

ok so which one is faster, i personally like the looks of the camaro's better but the interior on the gto's better. How do they compared when it comes to performance, if compared with same mods which would be faster? also i dont really street race but if i do it would be on the highway at 50+

im talking about the 05-06 gto with the 6.0 ls2 compared to say a 02 z28 both would have to be manual also

I personally would just feel better spending around 21k for a car with a warranty and low miles versus a 7 year old car without a warranty and low miles that usually go for around 13-14k

Obviously stock for stock, that LS2 will pull on the LS1 Camaro. If you have the cash, go for the LS2. No replacement for displacement!

GTOs aren't good for drag racing due to the independent rear axle, but they are MUCH better cars than f-bodies. My stock LS2 GTO had no problem pulling on bolt-on LS1 f-bodies from a roll. Now with the twin-turbos it really moves out.

If this is your daily driver, get the GTO. They are more comfortable, have some nice features, handle better, and are more enjoyable to drive than an f-body.

i love both cars! my lid/catback T/A had no problem pullin on stock ls2 gto's. but everyone has their war stories, lol! now if you have 21k cash, then go with the ls1, you will have one hell of a car with some of that cash invested(pro-charger etc....) but like tony said: GTO>f-bod for daily drivin.

it will be a dd and i will only do light mods like boltons incase i decide to resell it. I am really torn between the 2 because for a camaro your looking at around 13.5k and for only about 7k more you get a newer, bigger engine, warranty, better interior. I like the camaros appearance better but i guess its really which is more value for the money. I dont have a problem dropping around 20k for car aslong as it has good resale value...

GTO's are nice. My friend got an '06 today. It's red, has an LS2 and it's 6 speed. Bone stock, and he is already talking **** cause I won't race him in my LS1 T/A. WTF does he expect when my car is in the shop getting painted, lol. Oh well.. He just got his car stolen last weekend (he had on '07 Civic Si) and got his GTO today. I keep telling him that now he has a real car with some ***** and they he was playing with ******* toys before his GTO and he said he would pick his civic over the GTO anyday. Anyways, does anyone think I would take this kid in a race? He can't drive it for ****.. What do you expect going from a 190hp car to a 400hp car, lol.

I have had 2 camaro's and one GTO, I say GTO all the way! I had a stock LT1, a low 12 second LS1 and now my turbo goat.
When my goat had mid pipes and a catback I was neck and neck with my buddy with a 2000 Z28 T56 with LT's, ORY, a cutout, mti lid with k&n and a tune.

One mod? HahaHA.. Don't let my sig. trick you bro. I got Mac mid tubes, Mac off road y pipe, Flowmaster cat-back (also got a cut-out cause my cat-back sucks!), Hurst shifter, Auburn differential, coconut air freshener, NGK plugs, Crane Cam wires, LS7 clutch kit, a nice little tune and also some other little goodies. I'm about to ditch my exhaust set up and go with LT's, x-pipe, true duals dumped and also a 200 shot

im kinda leaning towards a gto because for the extra 6-7k you get the ls2, fewer miles, warranty, and about a 4yr newer car. I picked up a low mile z28 for cheap not too long ago around 11.5k but most ppl want closer to 15k for their z's now it seems and you can get a 05 gto fairly often for around 21k
