if the 300something one is a good vinyl cutter then i wanna buy that one. i'm just gonna sell custom decals online. not worried about it being a big business.
do any of the cutters actually cut out the vinyl? because every single person i've seen that makes them has to go back over the lines with a razor knife. do you have to do that with every cutter?
couldnt i just print out something onto a piece of vinyl with a regular computer printer..then go over the printed lines with a razor knife?

you definitely get what you pay for. our vinyl shop spent about 2200 on a machine that works very well. some vinyl is more/less dense or more/less thick, so sometimes you have to adjust the blade pressure to find the point where it will cut the vinyl but not the backing. once the vinyl is cut you have to "weed" it, where you take out all the things that dont beling with a razor blade (or exacto knife). then you put on the transfer tape.

JumpInTheFire.com : I have the older model of that cutter and I absolutely love it. For the price you cant beat it, You can adjust the depth of the blade and the speed it will cut on the cutter while it is cutting. That comes with the flexi starter software wich is the one of the best programs on the market for doing vinyl work (dont get the one with sign go lite, I think it sucks comapred to flexi 8.5). The transfer tape is applied after you cut/weed the decal. It is basically like a clear decal that goes over the top of you cut out vinyl so you can apply the decal without it losing its shape or design. On small stuff you just lay your decal down, cut the application tape to size the lay it down on the vinyl the squeegie it down. Large peices can be very diddicult and will require some help to lay it down smooth. I bought a vinyl cutter to letter our 2 racecars because around me the vinyl guys get $700 to letter 1 racecar, I can do both of our racecars for around $400-600 depending if I use the exotic vinyls or not. So far I have letterd 6 of my own racecars and have ran about 1000 foot of vinyl through my cutter and have no problems AT ALL!!! If you have any more questions about that cutter shoot me a PM and I will try to answer them for you. Here are some pics of the work I did on my cars with almost the same exact cutter:
