i was thinking about the et streets but didn't think they did well in wet weather or as daily driving tires... was leaning towards the nittos till reading some of the post here about them not hooking once you got around 400rwhp... has anyone used the new goodyear drag radial or bfg's... thanks for all the help...

IMO....I would do the Nitto 555R's for street use and get another set of rims with MT's for the track!!! I run Nitto 555R's on my SS there are good on the street and not so good at the track! Plus they aren't bad in the rain! I just got another set of rims for the track and will be putting MT's on them!!

No you don't. Granted it'll help out, but it's not a necessity.
I run KDWS tires year round & I have cut a 1.9 60' with them. My car is daily driven so especially in the winter I have to have a good tire to get around in. I usually get a full years worth of driving outta them & I can make them hook up just fine. And they are great in wet weather.
