What shocks are yall using?
I'm going to buy shocks/springs for my car soon. I dont know whether to buy the SLP blistien package or the QA1 package. Any one use either of these shocks?
I know the blistiens are suppose to drop the car 1" and are not adjustable. The QA1s are adjustable but i dont think they drop the car any. I really just want a smooth quite ride. Handling is important but I'm not going to be taking any corners at 60mph so i dont need a stiff suspension. Any input/advice is definitely appreciated. I have also considered Konis, but i dont know if i want to pay that much for shocks.
Thanks

If you buy Bilstein HD's right now you get SLP Bilstein valving. The SLP kit lowers ~.75"-.5" for stage 1 and 2 respetively. What ever you do, look for springs that are on the soft side for the rears. Stiff rear springs makes for a 1 ton truck like ride.
QA1's are coil overs. You can raise and lower the car at will. Granted this messes with your alignment. QA1's are more of a drag set up and I've read more than a few posts about them leaking relatively quickly.
Another option would be to run Konis w/the front stock springs on the lower spring perch and doing !rear isolator on the back for a ~,75" drop.
I like my Hotchkis spring and Bilstein shock combo. The ride is better than it was stock and it has improved handling. It only lowered my car about an inch.

I'd stay away from Sportlines. For one, they set too low. Second they have too little rate in the back for the lack of height and you'll end up hitting your bump stops. 3rd, Eibachs have been known to settle lower in the rear than front.

Bilstein HD's are on national backorder. Nobody can get them. If a company has SLP Bilsteins on the shelf, they're old and valved for the Eibach springs that came with the SLP package, which are NOT the same as the Pro Kit.
Right now, the options are Koni SA's and everything else. Koni's are great (I run them), and allow lots of adjustability. They're also expensive, at over $800 for a set of four. Some people have been using KYB AGX's as an alternative, since they're cheap, but most people will tell you "you get what you pay for".

I am on the stock shock and springs. I know Koni's are expensive but from what I have read they make a huge different in handling and ride quality.
I plan to go with Koni shocks, Strano springs and I rarely hear that combo disappoint.

I have Bilstein HD's from Strano, and they're valved for the stock springs (which I have). I absolutely love the, but if you're looking for a smooth ride, I wouldn't recommend them. They have a pretty stout resistance to compression, so when you go over a bump your guts are going to be jerked around a little. There are a couple crappy roads that can almost make me feel a little sick in my car, but in general I love the feel of them.
