i think its a very smooth transition if you have a 97 car. get the Ls1 and T56, wiring harness, ls1 k member. and clutch setup. Prolly need a new radiator and condensor if you wanna do it right. there are about 3-4 guys on the forum who have done it. i wish i would've done it to my 96 but thats another story and now i have a 97!

use the LT1 radiator, block off the one hole at the bottom of the driverside, LT1 radiator was sold as an SLP upgrade for the LS1. Can use LT1 condensor too.

i'm currently doing this swap right now and i lucked out by having a complete 98 TA donor car. But the tranny was shot so i had to buy a special flex plate to adapt my LT1 tranny to the LS1 block. So far its nickled and dimed my *** to the ground but alot of it was precautionary BS that i weanted to eliminate down the road. plugs, wires, main seal, motor mounts, painting the engine bay, etc..... good luck! wiring is gonna be fun

This site http://www.dxsoftware.com/magnus/ has detailed instructions and pictures. Just do a search for "lt1/ls1 swap" using the advanced search feature and selecting the conversion forum. I promise you all the info you need will be there.

Not too hard to do, Wiring is pretty easy..

Don't touch ANYTHING with the Wiring on the Fuel Guage, that's on a different Circuit. Most people have a mis-conception about that.

Here is my swap..
