Default 2 step rev limiter question

I know there is a company out there that is selling this but I'm looking into a small venture with a friend in developing one for the LSX engine...hopefully at a lesser cost.

For those of you that already have one, how did you "trick" the computer into not seeing a misfire? Did you simply delete the codes or was there a blocker that came with the kit?

My friend already developed an "on the fly" timing lock for older fox bodies that also included the 2 step in it. He's currently working on one for the Ford mod motors (cobra, etc) and is interested in the LSx engines also. Any info you guys have, i'd appreciate. As far as the mechanics, engineering aspect, etc, we're good...just curious about the computer/engine logistics once the 2 step is engaged.

We'll be using my car for the test...let's hope my 10 bolt doesn't snap!

Awesome Zeke34! I appreciate some of the info there. I was actually talking with my buddy last night and I think we came up with an idea both drag racers and street racers would love - A 2 step that you could use on the fly to set whatever speed/rpm you wanted to roll race/drag from. Essentially, just push the button to lock in the rpm you want and then floor it to build boost...just let off the buttom once you hit the 3rd beep and off you go in boost . I'd say it's much better than brake boosting for sure!

For drag racers, same concept applies. Just rev up to where you want to lock it in at...push the button, build boost, then launch like a **** upon releasing the button.
