Gas Mileage
I am curious to see what you guys/gals are getting as average mpg. Let us know a little about the car and the type of driving your doing. With gas prices over $3 a gallon for regular gas mileage is a major consideration when buying a car these days.

Stock I got about 20.5 MPG avg (70% hwy 30%hwy) at 309 RWHP
Went with TR224 cam and a poor tune and got 18.5 MPG avg at 375 RWHP
Since I've worked on the tune for dozens of hours and got it back to about 20 MPG still putting down 375

I went from 25mpg on the HWY to 18-20mpg on HWY with mods listed below.
I average 15-17 with mixed driving per tank. I did not buy this car to get great gas milage. Heck it still gets better than my F-150.

how are you guys gettin over 20mpg? i drive mine pretty decently(obviously there are times i don't care and i drive it hard), but i seem to be down by the 16mpg range unless its all highway driving like my cross-country trip, and then i only got 21.something...everything on mine is stock

On most vehicles they arent that trustworthy. Plus, a lot of times they are a "lifetime average" reading, not an average per tank. do the math after filling up one time and see what it says compaired to your "mileage gauge"

I reset my gauge with each fill up. It was typically 2mpg high when I actually calculated it. After I put full boltons it was reading 25.5mpg, yeah right try 18mpg. The readings were rediculously high because I have bigger injectors. Needless to say I dont even look at it anymore.

Curiosity is also much different than "major concern". If mileage is a major concern, don't buy a GTO.

I reset my computer each time I fill up, and have found that every time I do something that would change the mileage, the computer is off for a "while", then comes back to true...and I've verified mine with actual calculations, not just the computer.

I check mine by hand every once in awhile to see what the difference is. From day one, its been about .5mpg high. That has been through 4 cams and various mods. Has stayed pretty consistent, so I go off that. But I do continue to check it every now and again just to make sure.
