Default can someone tell me what pushrod length to get??? Engine specs inside...

Stock shortblock 2002 ls1 with stock lifters and rockers
Heads are AFR 205's milled .022 (62.3cc) with .040 cometic head gaskets
Cam is a F13 230"/232" .595"/.585" 112LSA

I initially bought 7.4 length manley chromoly push rods because i planned on doing a cam swap only with the stock heads but i ran into a great deal on some AFR heads that i just got milled to 62.3cc. Obviously the 7.4 pushrods are too long now so what size push rods should i use...and no i don't feel like going out and buying a $20 pushrod length checker...that's why im asking you guys for help LOL!!!

Thanks,

DeAndre

This is just a guess. But you milled .022 and the gaskets are about .025 thinner. So wouldnt you need 7.35 push rods? Or doesnt work like that?

cam base circle differential = .024
head mill = .022
gasket differential = .015

7.387 pushrod....BUT you should always measure for lenght

Anyone else got any input...do they sell a 7.387 pushrod or would i have to get some that are close as possible to "ouage ss's" calculation?

Which is your 7.400" pushrods. Not measuring is asking for problems. Hope you are also checking the wipe pattern on the rockers.

And this is where adjustable rockers would come in handy to get as close as possible.

Your putting together a kickass power combo IMO and you won't check pushrod length? I really don't get it. It's one of the easiest things to check when assembling the top end and is paramount to long valvetrain life and power output. Do yourself a favor and do it right.

How does the old saying go... There's never enough time to do it right first but always enough time to do it over again.

okay, okay...lol. i'm going to buy the pushrod length checker and invest in some harland or yella terra adjustables lol. I'm going to do it right because lord knows if I have to do it all over again I'm going to be pissed and in debt lol.

What adjustable rockers do you guys suggest...harlan sharps or yella terra's???

If i go with adjustable rockers would they allow enough adjustability for me to still use my 7.4 manley pushrods?
