Default FAST 90/90 set up or wait for new Weiand

I have a full bolt on ls1. Tr230 and PRC 2.5 5.3s. I am thinking about waiting for the new Weiand intake. If the Weiand does what they say (great under the curve), I think it will be a great match for my set up. I am also thinking about a FAST 90/90. I am thinking the FAST 90/90 might be to much for the price for my set up though. I am also worried about the FAST not doing well until after 6.2k when compared to the ls6 intake. Just don't want to pay 1k for 15 hp at 6.8k.

Overall, I thinking the new Weiand will be a better street intake than the FAST 90/90. I am just worried about it getting pushed back and back. I sold my ls6 intake and I am going to run a ls1 intake for a month or two.

What do you guys think?

I think no one will know until the intake comes out and people test it. Myself I decided to buy the Fast90 now rather than wait.

I was thinking about that too. I want to build a 408 after a while and the FAST 90 would be great and I would only have to buy it once. I am really liking the proposed under the curve of the Weiand though.

There was a thread about a 2 weeks ago in the dyno section about a swap from an LS6 intake to a Fast 90/90. The swap was done on the dyno so its a true A to B comparison.

Depends what you wanna do. They already figured out the new Weiand will only be superior (theoretically) from like 3000-6500 RPM's. If you plan on spinning up above that, the FAST will still be the only thing to feed you need.

I myself will be strapping on a Weiand this summer.

FAST 90/90 because there are more excuses than answers from Holley regarding the Weiand release date. Don't forget, there are also members whom have have good results after gutting the LS2 & trumpeting the inlet of the runners. So, if working on an LS2 intake is an option for you, maybe that's a less expensive alternative.

Stock cubes? LS6 is all you need with a H/C setup.

I picked up 28rwhp and 14 lbft of torque when I swapped from a ported stock throttle body and an LS6 intake to an unported Fast 90/Nick Williams 90 setup. This was the only change.

Lingenfelter CNC ported 853 cast stock heads...milled .070"...but that was over a very nicely ported stock throttle body and an LS6 intake.

I too got sick of waiting and ordered the new 92mm Fast intake and TB plus porting by Vengeance.

It will be interesting to see the increase from my stock LS6 intake and 84mm Starr TB.

I'm going to snag a weiand when they come out since I don't ever plan to spin much past 6500 rpm.. Just hope it holds up to it's hype of great under the curve power..

Likewise....I'm hoping for just the same. I'm dying to get rid of the aluminim Weiand intake I have on my car now and I think this product could be just what I'm looking for. Hopefully they will be available for purchase soon!
