Best Tire For:***Daily Driver, Best traction, In rain, No Snow, longest lasting
I did a search and didn't come up with what I was looking for. Basically, I am need of new rear tires. I want to go with the widest possible, which looks to be 285's with my stock WS6 Rims. I don't care if it's a street tire or drag radial. Here is what I am looking for in order of most important: 1.Traction(bolt on car) 2. Good in Rain 3. Low Price 4. Longest Lasting What is the best bag for the buck. The main thing is that they get great traction, can handle rain, last long and costs a reasonable roice. Can anyone suggest a good tire to go with and possible a sponser to buy them from?

when you throw rain into the equation is where you kinda run into problems.
GSD3's by goodyear have been known to be GREAT in the rain, but they are pricey, and dry traction is probably about like most other street tires.
Nitto NT555R Drag radials are going to probably be a little better on dry street traction, worse in rain but not unbearable (just dont be stupid) and are pretty fairly priced.
BFG Drag radials arent going to do much for you in the rain but have good dry traction. moderately priced....wont last too long.
BFG KD's will be a good all around tire with focus on dry traction (KD=Key Dry), they are pricey though.
those are really the only ones i can think of. having good dry traction and good traction in the rain is going to be a comprimise but for what you're suggesting i'd go with the nittos. im on the BFG's myself but my car doesnt see any rain. so far they are great. hope this helped!

Just picked up some Michlen Pilot Sport II. Expensive but hopefully should work pretty good in the rain and dry pavement. Was going to get the BFG KDW or something along those lines, but after looking at the meats the new ZR-1 is using and realizing they are virtually identical (if not the same) Michlen's I decided I would give them a shot. Not the cheapest tire out there though.

I had them and those were the worst tires I have ever had...would never buy those overpriced pieces of junk for anything..traction is non existent with those tires..I have seen 80 dollar tires hook better than they did..dry or wet..hope you have a better experience than I did with them..maybe i just got a bad batch
