AI 200cc package
I'm rebuilding my engine and am probably going to go with this heads and cam package on my 95 6 speed TA. When I talked to them they recommended a 22X 230X cam with around .580 lift. What I 'm wondering is how driveable this cam is. I don't daily drive the car, but I do drive it to work on nice days and make some long trips in it. I can end up stuck in traffic and want something that will behave in stop and go traffic. I'm also concerned a bit about longevity, I don't want to be changing valve springs every 10,000 miles.
Anyone running this setup on the street and putting lot's of miles on it?

So... you are saying this combo, with a 22x/23x cam, will get "heat soaked" more so than a mild combo and shouldn't get "heat soaked" but maybe once in awhile? Why not explain yourself in greater detail. I don't believe the more challenged members like myself really fully understand where you are coming from...

With a full build you will be easily able to get compression right which goes a long ways towards helping drivability. That cam will be fine.
I have 2 year and about 16K miles on my AI combo and all is holding together well, and mine is a lesser package than they sell now. They do not offer the heads or springs I am using.

Hey man,
Awsome choice on going with AI for your deal. I called them about a month ago and thats who I've given the nod to for my work. I am realy curious as to how it will work out so keep me posted or send me your email adress so I can keep track of your progress. I have a questions, on your shiping cost, I live in north western canada(you take the ferry to alaska from where I live) and I wonder how you are shiping and how much it will cost to do it.
Also, 22x 230x cams? They told me that with out getting totaly into details that maybe a 306 would be beter? Who makes the 22 and 230 and why do they think there beter? Also I'm not trying to be rude at all here, does WA for your state mean Washington? I live in British Columbia, that's north of you. Just try and figure out shiping.

I will post up progress once I get the motor out and actually get started on the work.
