i too have a eboost.
being in australia, im could ring up and ask questions.
firstly,
they asked for it back to check / upgrade
"appairently there is a slight problem, and upgrade was required"
ok
got that done...
still didnot work properly
then got advised to put at power wires in to a sheath, that protected from radio waves, electro magnetic signals etc...
hmmm
still no go...
took it off, and now it works great !!!!
AS A PAPER WEIGHT ON MT DESK...........
good luck with your eboost2....

the bottom line is the unit should work as described and built to work....why put "how to zero" in the manual if the function is not there??
I am not sending the unit to Australlia...............
I can see the customer service is not the greatest............I see this service with alot of companies.....just want to sell but not back the product when there is a problem...
It looks like I will hava a nice paper weight also,.....what a shame....I really like the unit...but want it to function as supposed too!

Tom,
You will find that most electronic controllers on the market are not bang on the money. They talk about the AMS and C02 controllers, but these are more for race applications. Where are you going to stick that massive box inside a corvette ?
The way I see it ... learn to work with it, or buy another head ache

If you were to un-plug the boost controller vacume lines off the wastegate, it should hold the boost pressure your wastegate spring is setup for. If you still see boost creep, then yes you need to upgrade the wastegate. If it holds that spring pressure steady threw the RPM, your wastegates are fine.

my first eb i had in 2002 i had some question/concern. i talked to the guys in aus. over the phone and email and they were responsive then. i sent my controoler to aus (no big deal, an extra piece of paper to sign at fed ex) and they took care of my problem, and even updated the users manual to reflect what we collectively found. (solenoid configuration)
hope it turns out for you. i am completely satisfied w/ my current eb2 and would buy another.

I was never told to send the unit back. I am in the US ..so turn around would be a long time.....cant use car without it....
They should have someone in the US exchange the unit for a unit that does what it is supposed to do....this is clearly a problem with programming and design from the start...
It should be replaced or reprogrammed at the expense of Turbosmart

Hmm. I've never checked for any differences with mine. I'll have to look at some logs and see. If mine is off by .5-1.5 lbs, then I made 800 with 12-12.5lbs. Either way, if you dyno with x lbs of boost and made x hp, then you would just work up from there. I don't see a problem.

i have just the regular eboost..so probably one of the first ones off the shelf and it zeros itself out.
some1 posted that u turn the car on (not engine) on the eboost display I think it starts up and says eboost..then mine goes to -1 and then 0 or something like that.
so yours is reading ~1.5 with the car on (not engine)?

Why is that a problem ? An annoyance yes...but a real problem ?

Because all calculations will be off based on the amount to start with.
Plus......the function is supposed to be there......and it doesnt work. The product doesnt do what it is supposed to do......
When you but a product it is reasonable to expect it to do what it the manual and advirtising says it should do!!...Right?
