Default + 211,000 miles

Thinking of rebuilding my motor. How much am I looking to spend If I rebuild the stocker? Or what would you guys do? I'm not trying to go expensive such as a stroker or anything like that...or should I? It's my Daily Driver. I need something reliable and powerful.

I'm in the same situation. My bolt on TA is at 190K, and I know it's inevitable, but it's still running great.

Yesterday my clock turned 64,000 and I was like damn Im putting too many miles on her. As for a rebuild shouldn't be to much, you could even find a used engine from a wrecked car with little miles.

get a forged GMPP LS6 longblock from SDPC...or a shortblock and re-use your heads/intake. that's a good, semi-cheap package that will be very strong and durable.

I agree with Gun5. If you are still thinkin about swapping out motors then you should consider the LQ9. A few more cubes, and a lot more options as far as heads... just a little heavier. Dirt cheap too! Some people talk bad about the weight, but I like to remember a time when even our rides came with a little iron thing I like to call the LT1.

I'm definately going with an iron block when it's time. You just can't beat it for the price.

Wow, I'm happy to see there are some LS1s out there running good with 200,000 miles. That means mine is still got plently of life in it then before I even have to think about a rebuild

I've seen that one, but it's not forged motor. Not a bad deal though.
