Default LT1 into wrangeler?

I was wondering if anyone here had ever swapped an LT1 into a wrageler. I know Ive heard of LS1s going in, but I never recall anything about an LT1. Btw the only reason Im thinking about an LT1 is because I might be able to pick one up cheap. Thanks a lot.

I've got one in a 97 TJ. The only downside is the Opticspark distributor. They tend to fail when they get wet and it is hidden down under the water pump. Bad deal for a Jeep.

Ahh I compleatly forgot about the opti. My jeeps usually just going to be used in bad weather and for off roading so thats definitely something to be concerned about. lsxyj, you didnt by chance document when you did that install did you?

Just got done with my 5.3L install. Started it up for first time last weekend. I'd definitely go with an ls series over an lt.. I went with an AL block based 5.3l

Ahh, that's a different angle than I am taking but it makes sense. Good dependable capable drivetrain that gets good mileage. I'm on a different track, trying to get 450 hp up to 500. Thanks anyway.

Cheers,
Whit

I'm using stock manifolds right now. May change out to headers later, not sure. I haven't taken any pics of the exhaust yet. Maybe tomorrow. I'm using 2.25" from the manifolds through the skid and joined up into a Y pipe just behind the transfer case. Then into a single 3" pipe and through a super 44 series muffler.

we run one side around the front and then back to the other one so that there is room for everything and not get in the way.
