Anyone have Emission Insight for NY, I may be moving... Trying to see what the emisison test/requirements are for NY. I may be moving really soon and need to start thinking about it. Also, is it a state requirement to register the car in state, or could I keep my out of state plates and avoid the tests all together??

Re: Anyone have Emission Insight for NY, I may be moving... Yes I think they do But I think you should just keep your car registered how it is so you don't get in trouble with emisions. Are you running a off road pipe with the LT's or do you have cats.
I have my car registered there but they sent me a temp inspection sticker for right now untill I go back and then I have like 15 days to get it inspected when I cross into NY. I am military I bought my car in LA but registered it in NY. I think I will just keep the temp inspection sticker for a while

Re: Anyone have Emission Insight for NY, I may be moving... Yeah, Go Army here, and notta single piece of emisisons as of now...saved all the stock stuff but cant see installing it again. JetHot LT's, true duals. I am from Michigan--read no testing there 
. Might have to swing by Ma's to get new registration.
Here in Hawaii, you can keep your out of state, but must go thru the inspection anyway!

Re: Anyone have Emission Insight for NY, I may be moving... cat3 where are you looking in N.Y to live. If you can give me a town or county i should be able to help you out. I live in orange county {about 1hr from N.Y city} and we do not have a sniff test.

Re: Anyone have Emission Insight for NY, I may be moving... hey cat3 im at fort drum. the only thing they check for is cats here but i got the hook up with that, just get with me and ill tell you where to go. i run a custom x-pipe with no cats or mufflers with turndowns before the axles. also no windshield wipers and i pass hehehe.

Actually i would much rather leave Hawaii and get there and deploy then to sit on my **** any longer in paradise. my brothers were the first into Afghan, after I was made to PCS here, and then of course the were attached to Marines as the first into Baghdad. I have a too cushy a job now. Should be there Mid-Jan unless they put us on a stop movement. Be nice to link up with some other LS1'ers.
