Oil On Spark Plug Threads With TEA Heads
I have a h/c ls1 and ever since day one of my h/c motor I have had oil on all of the spark plug threads. I have a big comp cam in the 240s duration and TEA heads. I siliconed the rocker bolt threads and I have a catch can and valve cover breather. Any help is appreciated.

I would check the intake for oil first, just remove the TB and see if you feel oil. The catch can is not always the cure. There are many catch cans on the market that really do nothing much. Then there are styles with true internal baffling that help eliminate this problem. Check my thread on this issue.

It certainly can be. That's a pretty easy test, and it will tell ya if it's coming through the PCV. After I eliminated my PCV, the TB area remained oil free, the oil was coming from the cylinder area, and only getting back into the intake a couple inches from reversion, so PCV was a problem in the begining but now another issue of some sort.

It is just on my plug threads, not on the electrodes. It was on the electrode on my #2 plug until I installed a catch can. I have also done a compression test and had 160 PSI in every cylinder.

I'll bet it's the wrong valve stem seals. I did find some low cylinders (rings), but not all holes. So, something that was done when the heads were cleaned up, as it never occurred before that I know of. What else could possibly cause oil to puddle on top of every intake valve, and about the same amount. If we look at the rocker, when shutting the motor down there is a small puddle of oil on the bolt head area. A perfect source for oil to leak down into the comb chamber AFTER the car is shut down. Does this sound logical?

Edit: sorry thought this was the other thread on my oil issue, though this mat still give some insight.
