This was not fun but I guess it all adds up right?

All these together weighed exactly 27 lbs.

Not sure. I did not weigh them individually. I am thinking the door bars are 6lbs each?

Last year I pulled the drivers door bar and decided to wait on the passengers. But it is coming out this week.

I'd add more power and leave in the safety stuff

Maybe you should remove strips of the floor too

Tony's runs 9s the full cage will keep him safe.

On true street cars though you are right.

The Impala guys like to replace the front bumper support with some sheet aluminum, on the street I would fear the frail rail acting like a spear if you hit anyone.

Safety is always a priorty with me. I saw no use for those. Like he mentioned my cage will keep me safe.

BTW guys......this little tool works great for the door bars!

10mm wrench socket and a 10mm wratcheting wrench FTW!

The front bolts on the bars are tough. Make sure not to back the bolts out so far you can't get the wrench off! LOL It will wedge between the door and the bar if you do that. Just back them off a bit with the tool and then finish by hand.

I'm glad I have the plastic with what looks like stainless steel mesh ones in the RMS. although I'm not sure how much lighter they are then the metal ones found in the caprice and SS.

I've got 2/3 of those done. I'm going to wait on the rollbar to take out the door bars.
