Is This A Good Deal? 98z fixer upper
Found a dude that has had his 98z sitting for the past two years! Story behind it:
The guy had a vortech water-air supercharger setup on the car and he decided to sell it because of medical bills (broke a hip/leg). He informed me that it is possible that since he had the supercharger on a stock motor w/89K miles, that a piston ring may have been destroyed. He thinks this because there is little (almost none) white smoke coming from the exhaust. Anyways, the body is in very good shape. The interior is clean. He owes 3600.00 on the car. And has been paying full coverage insurance for the past two years and it just sits there. He wants to get rid of it.
Im thinking of offering 3000.00. And then checking the compression. If bad, buy a shortblock from a member and swapping it in. Is this a good deal?

Because im scraping for cash. In reality i cant afford this car, my friends and I are college students with low paying jobs right now. If we get this car, its becuase we all chipped in together, but even then, we might not even have enough.
