I would go with Performabuilt if they offer the C5 version of the tranny, top notch badass warranty and they are built to last!

I would suggest you look at our offerings on our website, The procedure for a C5 is different as far as we do need your trans to build, However the pricing is the same as we handle all round trip shipping etc,
Thanks

FLT or ACE hands down. You won't find negative feedback on those two. Quality builds that will perform better than advertised.....the first time. Others can't say that.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/automatic-transmission/800809-flt-takes-wow-factor-lot-pics.html

Take some time to review this thread....you'll see exactly how much attention to detail FLT puts into each and every unit. They have a killer refresh special for as long as you own the tranny, and free shipping for March!

Glad to see you doing a bit of research prior to your purchase. It is important.

I would be glad to discuss some options with you should you decide to call. We build custom units that are spec'd out for the given powertrain package.

With proper planning and a good understanding of the process you cannot go wrong.

Good Luck either way you choose to go,

g

just like anywhere you have great sponsors & some not so good..............note who byunspeed choices to do business with as a sponsor..(byunspeed is a great sponsor)

remember you asked for the good & the bad......

well we just got off the what sponsor to go with merry go round & after 2 bad trannys in & out of the car with 1500 miles on one trans around 250 on the other they sent a third,(same shyt different day)

now this is getting expensive. pulling these trans & shipping them back (yes they made us pay for shipping back THERE first bad unit) having the converters sent out to be cleaned twice now, trans fluid twice now, tuning drove to the tuner 1 1/2 hours away twice trying to get them to shift right, gas & breaking down & getting rides.....well it all adds up & we paid $1650 for a performance trans

so we get the third trans in the mail & the car has been stranded at straightline(another great sponsor) performance now for a month or two because i didnt make it home after the second tuning effort (the second trans took a shyt with the tuner mike in the car) & they call me & say we just got the trans but are still waiting on the converter to come back so we talk & come up with a plan to have the third trans put on FLT dyno to check & make sure this one works so we dont have to put in & pull another one out & incur more cost & down time.........

well we did that & it had issues on flt dyno.................

so we had flt rebuild the other sponsors third trans & boy oh boy what a difference......its a miracle after what we have gone threw..........a real working tranny

all sponsors are not created equal & it brings no joy to me writing this,so choose wisely who gets your money as our money is gone & not coming back...........

FLT or ACE who ever you are closer too would get my business. get it done right the first time, not the second or third................

GOOD LUCK my 0.2

True, customer service is pretty important when you're pulling a defective tranny two or even three times. I'd rather have my first one work like it should....hence my purchase from FLT .

I would go with the guys who get it rite the first time .Dont buy based on customer service because what is customer service doing for you when you are on your back pulling 2 and 3 trannys .That said some sponsors have dollar store quality and some have great quality. The choice is yours and so is the money do your reasearch which will be hard because most of the negative feedback is gone but if you really want a good tranny go with flt or ace

Thanks for all the input everyone. To FLT, how much power at the wheels would you say your units are good for?? I'll be running slicks ans a fair amount of N2O.

Not what I asked. I asked if they had 4L60 or 65E units or are they running a 2 or 3 speed trans.

All of those vehicles run a FLT 4L65E-5 Extreme Duty – Level 5
with a FLT billet output shaft. Here is a link to the build sheet. http://finishlinetrans.com/store/pro...products_id=31

All of these cars make 700rwhp+ One of which made over 850rwhp on a dyno smoking the tires! 2 of them ran within two tenths of one another in the 9.6X index. Two of which...... from what I have been told are under renovation. 08 for sure should be a good year! Feel free to call us to discuss your situation. Thank you for your time. Vince

FLT 4L65E-5 Extreme Duty – Level 5 is what I'm running, as well. Just went through a major issue which turned out to be the installation done by the shop, not a tranny or converter issue. Chuck and Vince both helped out more than anyone else could have possibly helped me ... countless PM's and phone conversations with both of them.

Because they knew I was having a very difficult time getting parts, they baiscally GAVE them to me. Without the stator shaft Chuck shipped to me overnight, it would have cost me a $50.00 per day car rental over the 4-day weekend.

Hands down, FLT will always get my business ... not saying there's isn't another builder out there who is 'as-good', but, nobody could possibly be a better bulder or offer better service ,IMHO.

I'll vote for rpm, but I'm biased.

You should check them out though when weighing your options. I got a great combo deal on my tranny and a built rear-end with hardened output shaft.

They are the transmission of choice over in the FI section of corvetteforum.

There are a handful of good builders to choose from.
