Default Pretty loud ticking in valvetrain- Pushrods too long?

I have a 99 vette with a new motor, I know the dual springs are loud but I feel this is entirely too loud..

I have a MS4 cam, And heads milled .025, stock headgasket and a 7.400 pushrod Are these too long?

Im getting a consistiant 40+ psi of oil pressure, When the motor is cold It doesnt do it badly at all.. motor has 125 Miles on it.

Im trying to figure out what my steps should be at atleast quieting the noise, or verifying everythings ok..

They may be too long. You should measure them to be sure. Did you flycut or have reliefs in your pistons for the MS4 with Milled heads.....What stage heads also?????

Your cam probably has a smaller base circle. Maybe .050 smaller than stock. With .025 milled from the heads and stock head gaskets, you're probably getting .025 less lifter preload than stock. To have the preload you had before the cam swap, you may actually need a longer pushrod. But the big cams are definitely noisier than stock anyhow.

Engine Has been flycut.. They are stock LS1 heads

Its definately a loud ticking, How long does it take for the lifters to pressureize with oil?

a couple of seconds for the lifters to pressurize.... You really need to measure for correct pushrod length.....its probably the root cause of your problem

The lifters are out of my buddies Z06 werre building, they have 31k on them and looked way better than mine..

I showed the car to my friend that the parts came from. He said when they were in his car they sounded about as loud but mine might be a hint louder.

Id still like to find out the right pushrods.. I know im getting good oil pressure so Im assumeing my lifters are good still..

Use a sharpie and mark the valve stem and see where the tip is hitting.

sounds to me like the pushrods might actually be too short. if they were too long i would think the valves might be staying open a little longer or opening too soon.
