hey are those canton valve covers? did your alternator clear the passenger side? Ive got a set of canton's and the bearing on the back of the alternator hits the kickout on the valve cover and won't let it sit right. I think i'm going to have to cut on them to make them fit.

I would recommend that you try to use Mr. Gasket cork gaskets. They fit these valve covers perfectly.

yeah i had to do some clearancing for rocker on #2 also. Are the Mr. gasket cork ones the ones with a steel peice in the middle? I think i'm going to have to take the valve cover off and either get a hammer and start banging on it so the alternator will fit or talk my cousin into cutting it and tigging it back together for me. either way it makes me mad that i'm doing this to brand new valve covers!

The ones I got are just plain cork. We used ultra gray RTV and glued them to the covers. No leaks at all. I'm hoping I won't have to clearance anything else. It does suck having to grind on a nice set of covers.
