Default Need a quick answer fast please! (oil pump)

I have a 99

jmX said to do an oil pump change when doing the cam on this year of car

TR has the LS6 oil pump modified.

Katech has an ls1 oil pump that is blueprinted and honed

Debate

I am doing the install tomorrow/saturday

TR can ship over night, but is like $50
Katech can do it ground and get it to me tomorrow (local)

Is the Katech one a pretty sturdy model? Is this the pump I want to go with?

same price

LMK

Either one will be fine. Both are good pumps.

I bought my oil pump directly from Katech, and when I compared it to my original 98 pump, they looked identical execpt for the date markings. My new one said 01 on it and my old one said 98. I didnt take it apart to see what the insides looked, but what Im trying to say is it doesnt matter which place you get the pump from, theyre really just GM pumps that might be smoothened out in the middle.

..you might as well do the timing set also....at a mininum, replace the stock timing chain...these are cheap at a GM dealer and should give you some piece of mind...

Alternatively, you could buy a double roller timing set from SDPC for $80... a really stout piece that is well worth the money...
