Default shorty headers...

is there any kind of gain to be had on them? at all? because i know where i can get a set for cheap...

Yes 5hp. 10HP with a tune. LT's will be way better 15hp or 25hp with good tune
P.S.
I alot of work and hours trying get to the headers to get them off then put the new ones on. If you do it yourself. Don't pay someone even worse.Do it once and do it right go with LT's stainless seal

i cant afford them... but i found some shortys for $75 and i think i could possibly get the guy down some more...

you'll see a good 10-12 hp, its better then the manifolds

That may be true for a Ls1 but there stock manifolds flow much better then LT1's.

save your money and do LT, if your gonna do it you might as well do it right.

I have Macs and love them! That being said the Macs are a midlength header. I say if your gonna do headers do either mids or longtubes. You will be pissed at yourself if you get shorty's. With shorty's you will still have horrible plug access, not much gains, everyone with longtubes will be faster than you, and not much change in exhaust note. Then you WILL want different headers and have to re-do the horrible job again!

Don't bother with shorties, especially if you plan on installing the things in your sig. It will be a waste of time and effort.
