Exclamation HELP!! Motor noise after mods!

we finally got my motor together after new heads, cam, intake, injectors, stall converter, Katech rod bolts...

After getting about 75% of the tuning done the car is good enough to drive around. It sounds MEAN with the MS3 cam!! I love it. everything is going good, I'm just waiting on the rest of my tune before I can get on it and see what this motor can really do!!...... until I am on my way to work, on the highway, and the motor starts making a ticking sound. When I rev it up the noise gets faster with the rpm's. The oil pressure is good and we checked the rockers, they're good too. after having the car running, so we can listen to the sound and try to find where in the engine it's coming from, it starts getting quieter until it's gone... weird! I go back inside to work and come out a couple hours later on lunch and drive it to lunch. everything is fine, car is running good, no noises. I go back to work. when I get in the car to go home at the end of the night everything is still fine. I'm almost home and the noise starts again! it's pretty loud sometimes and sometimes when it comes up it's pretty quiet. What is this problem? and if it's lifters how cound the noise come and go like that? it happens when the engine is cold or when it's hot. it's random.

Hate to tell you this but, it might be the O ring. I just pulled my pan and could not believe how bad the O ring looked... Did a H/C swap last year

Are you going to pull the pan or do it from the front?

what's the advantage of pulling the pan over doing it from the front?

I heard there was a blue O ring that is better? where can I get this or a regular new o ring?
