Comp Cam
So I just got a great deal on a brand new Comp Cam....
228/232 112+4 .588 .595
Right now my car just has longtube headers, lid, 3.73 gears. How will this cam perform? What is a good stall for it? 3000-3600? I will be doing stall and cam at the same time...so it will be awhile til I install..I have to collect the other parts. I have a Powerbond pulley waiting also.
I really want to hit 11s..you can see my current time in my signature...
Will this be a good performer or should I just it and recoup my money?
Thanks

3200 stall and that cam is a really good cam you might get 12.1 cause you dont have heads and you will also need valve springs for your heads but you might get into the 11's if you put more bolt ons on

Launching!
Hitting the 11's?
Get a good quality converter and knock off .5 (YANK)
My first cam was a TR224 /.563 ,Manley springs, an LS1 intake, LT's with ORP, a Midwest 3500 tc and 3:23 gears on Nittos went 11.98@113.9
so I believe it can be done.
Call Dave at YANK tell him your goals and let him build a TC 4 U.
Good luck.

I'm just worried about the +4 advance...I know it moves my powerband lower, but how low?
My buddies 5.0 Mustang has a cam with +4 and his car falls on its face at 5200rpm. I know the motors are totally different.... I'd like mine to at least make power until 6000rpm.

It wont be too low. I have a 232/234 +2 which isnt much bigger than the cam in question, and it stays perfectly level dosnt even begin to drop off till 6700+ RPM. By all rights, I should be spinning to 7100 or better. Youll be very happy with teh +4. I promise it will not fall on its face. It will pull until deep in the 6K range.
