Default How can a tranny fluid change do this...?

Well I finally met up with Ellis for the first time, he is a really nice guy.

Long story short; the car got its tranny fluid, rear diff. fluid, and fuel filter changed. The rear had little shavings in it and looked good (thank god).

Anyways, I have had a hydraulic issue (not toooo bad) where it wont shift into 3rd at WOT (stock set up, not even the drill mod done) and the clutch pedal sticks on everyday shifting/driving. We plan on flushing and bleeding the system soon.

However, after changing the tranny fluid, this all disappeared. The pedal feels better than when it did brand new. WTF? I cannot see any correlation with the tranny fluid and the clutch. The car shifts better too, but the pedal is wonderful and it did not lock up in WOT either. Silky Smooth.

I asked Ellis (and he knows his sh*t) and I asked if there was a way this could effect this and he was like "No...." lol.

I expected it just to be a fluke and good timing, but I had a lot of crap to get done today and after 100 miles in one day it never lost its feel.

How? lol

Yeah I would never have thought...

I still don't see how there is any correlation. I'll get back with updates everyday to see if this is one perfect coincidence. It still has the crappy hydraulics in there too...

Yep, if you have dirt, air, water, burnt fluid or the resourvoir is low. It will do this. Since I found this out I change my brake fluid every other year or if it looks dirty at all. I use High Temp Motul Fluid. I had a habit of boiling the fluid at the drag strip.

Super 600 Brake Fluid 'Typical' New Dry Boiling Point - 600°F ... Motul RBF600. Motul RBF 600 Brake fluid is a fully synthetic fluid that meets and exceeds all ... blah, blah, blah.

Has worked for me over the past 10 years.

Regular Dex-III ATF with one quart red lien synthetic. Ellis said he always has done this mix and that it works really well.

I still don't see how this has any effect on the clutch/hydraulics/pedal.

Hey Chris.

I am guessing the MTL just has less drag on the input to main shaft bearing. trans might be setup to tight causing the drag.

Keep us up to date on how she is working

Not sure you would have to ask Ellis. I forgot what he used as he used his personal stash of it, while I brought the Dex.
