Default Banging noise under car...plze help this old man!

Recently put in a UMI adjustable torque arm with tunnel mount Vs. tranny mount. Pinion angle set to -2 after instal. Wanted to get the pressure off the tranny. I have an aftermarket exhaust TSP y pipe and Magnaflow catted exhaust. Love the set up but since the install of the TA I keep getting a banging sound (and some vibration) from under the car that is really starting to drive me nuts. Has anybody else had this problem and if so how did they fix it. I think it may be an exhaust pipe/TA mount brace clearance issue but not completely sure. And yes.....I did do a search on the forum! Somebody help this old man out cause I love my Z but hate the freakin bang.

I asked because mine bangs on decel as well, it's actually part of the body mount for the tq arm that just slightly rubs. Mine got alot better just by putting miles on it and running the car at highway speeds (basically just keep getting it to do it alot and it eventually does it less).

If it's a single "thump" or "bang" on decel, most likely the TA. That would be the axle wanting to wrap (fwd or rev). Mine doesn't do it on decel but it will at speeds just off idle, fwd and rev.

If it's multiple thumps and or bangs, it's probably the exhaust hitting your tunnel mnt. Mine done it .. what I did was; losen the exhaust, wedge a block (or whatever you can find) and get the most clearance you can between the tunnel mnt and the exhaust, (leave the block in place) and tighten everything back down.

Maybe possibly your ypipe if you are having like said above more than one rattle or pop. If it is almost consistent check driver side where your y pipe goes a little further back from the header. Mine rattled there really bad and I just wedged a peice of heater hose in there and the problem is gone Let us know what you find.

mine did the same thing, it was my dual side exhaust flexing and hitting the floorboard.

Mine is doing the same thing. I took it through some twisties and it felt excactly Like the axle wanting to wrap. And it also makes the bang if your in first in just tap it real quick and let off. This is after the pinion angle was set to -2.
The front of the TA is mounted in the top holes in the bracket. The driveshaft was AT 0 and the TA was at -4 (had alot of vibration) Then I adjusted it to -2 runs alot better but the clunking is there and it seems the axle want to bind up or something.

Oh I dont think its hitting the exhaust either, possible its the front TA bolts/bracket hitting the tunnel???????????
