Default Help me decied what clutch disk to go with.

So I have the clutch I want narrowed down to the Mcleod single disk. Im not sure wich disk to get though. Organic/organic or Kevlar/orgainic. I am planning on getting a 9inch and have Hoosier DOT radials in the garage already and plan on launching this thing at 6k. I would also like to get as much longevity as I possibly can. The car once it gets the 9inch will go to the track about once a month. I got 19k out of my RAM level 3 and I know that was an organic disk. Im not sure wich provides more life. Not conserned about clutch chatter as much as I am about the longevity. Thanks for your input in advance.

The organic 260171 is only good for 450 HP. The 800 series organic/kevlar was discontinued due to excessive chatter and was superceded to a 260571 which is a organic/ceramic segmented puck design. The 500 series is good for 550hp and is standard issue in the Mcleod Super Street Pro Kit 75223.

Hope this helps.

You will have to match them up off of McCleods site and probably call and tell speed inc what they are so they can match up to their Jobber list.

If you plan on staying at that power level, I doubt either clutch would have trouble handling those 6k launches, but the kevlar is DEFINITELY going to give you a longer clutch life if driven properly. That kevlar is tough material, but it tends to not like to be hot-lapped, especially on hard launches like that. Just FYI.

Hey thanks for the info. I found out that they only offer 1 disk now because of drivability problems. I think the only one you can get is the organic now but im gonna call Mcleod today and find out.
