Default raising shift point gains???

how much time or mph am i looking to gain from raising the shiftpoints from 6200 to 6600?? I have 228R - ls6 intake - lt's - 4.11's - 3800 verter and few other bolt-ons i run 103 on motor and 112 on N2O its still pulling hard at 6200 so i want to raise it up some. i feel as if it should be around 105 on motor.

Stock trans,6800 rpm shifts!!!!!!!Did you get a dyno tune on the motor/jug.You need to know where your hp&tq peak, and adjust from there.

no, i went to have it tuned and the guy had a TT WS6 blow a tranny on the dyno and it was sitting there so i couldnt use it. but from all these graphs ive been looking at with the same cam and intake, they all run up to 6400 - 6500 then flatline and most of the time shifting at 6600 - 6700. I know its still pulling HARD at 6200 in mine right now

Try 6500 -6600 then go to the track, see if its picked up at all.It took me a couple of times screwing with the shift points to get it right.Well worth the time and effort.

you'll see an improvement, prob nothing to serious, but noticable. however; stock autos will hold lots of power with the stock shift points, but if you raise the rpms you will kill the tranny extremely fast.

Made alot of changes with it,welds, diff verter,4.10s 12 bolt, fast 90/90.After my cam install i went 12.1-12.2s@112-113.Rear blew,12 bolt went in , welds on,car went 11.8 @115-116.Switched verters out dropped 1-1.5 gained 1-1.5mph.Same with the 90/90.Retuned car and dropped 2 tenths gained 3mph.Went from 6600 shifts to 6700 to 6800 and picked up every time.Sorry for all the #s.Its prob good for 1-2tenths and mph.

very lucky...if you have a cooler and shift kit you'll hold for a while, don't bank on it tho. just search the auto section, you'll see....

stock tranny here too.... in a heavy truck, but only at 6200 bout to be 6600 maybe today when the retune from nelson comes in. I have tranny cooler, vette servo, billet 4th servo, and HD-2 shift kit but with a BIG 3800 converter my gauge doesnt move much its usually around 125 - 140 when crusing and maybe 160 - 170 at the track
