Not sure if it relates or not, but my turbo fabricator, Cody @ LoveFab, used a 45R on his Acura NSX. It made 770 HP on W2W's mustang dyno. At that point the turbo was pretty much maxed out. Airflow is airflow. Now he has a hybrid turbo, looking for 1000 hp.

Yeah ive seen 42 and 45r's on import applications and they make awesome power. That sounds like one mean nsx

Yeah, I've ridden in it a few times. It's pretty crazy. He took me for a ride in his boosted Civic a few years ago, and that is what sold me on turbocharging. There was a bit of lag with the NSX, but when it came on it is scary. Traction is non exsistent. When it does hook up axle shafts and transmissions are the weak link. The Supra crowd has been using both the GT42R and GT45R for years. The GT42R in 74mm has taken cars into the mid to high 9's with dyno numbers in the upper 800's. The 76mm version has seen dyno numbers as high as low 900's. The GT45R has taken full weight supra's into the low 9's and also able to make over 1000whp with the GT45-78R. The times and dyno figures are from 6sp cars.

well on our 4.5L GN a gt42/74 not a r version got us aound 1000rwhp maybe more 3400lbs to 8.71@156mph

Is that nitrous assisted or without? The reason why i ask is the turbo is only rated 1100hp and 1000whp would be the highest i have ever seen out of GT4202 (74mm).

im running a PTE GT4276 with 1.12 ar.

@ 3 psi and 20 * the car made 415 hp, and 390 trq.

With any luck at all, the car will be finished getting tuned tomorrow, and i will have some info on around 7 psi.

thanks for the info guys. the drag car at the shop i work for used one to go 8.56@171 and make over 1000whp. I was just seeing what kind of results people were having on ls based motors.

Im finishing my GTO up now... well the shop is, and I went with twin GT42Rs... I wish it was done so I could give you numbers!

as for the LS engiens, the GT42rs is considered to be a little too small if your only using one. depends on what you are trying to do though.....

so is AMS trying to get into a new market or is this just for yourself????

Go with a GT45F-78. Its the non-BB verison and will make pretty good power and spools nicely. Has the larger 88mm LDP turbine wheel which won't choke like a GT42.....or at least as badly.

Thanks for the kind words. Its just for me, i wish we would get into this market but we are very busy with what we have going on right now. I was thinking about a GT458008R with a tial stainless v-band turbine housing.

As we have been through a few turbos on a few different makes and models, (hondas, supras ls1's) I am a precision fan for sure. PT 74 gts on a customers supra made 922 @ 33 psi, runs 10.0@144, 38 psi on a full weight 6 spd 2jz 28x10.5 et street at a da of 8000 Ft average. Rsx on a 61mm PT makes 750 HP at 31 psi, my Camaro does pretty good at 13 psi (times in sig). I am going to get some numbers soon (this week hoepfully) on a S70 from Forced inductions turbo, but I have great luck with PT stuff. definitely 1000000000 times better than turbonetics oil blowers.

I have a non R GT42-74mm, 1.15AR with a T6 flange that'll be going on my stock LT1.
