383 vs 408
Whats the major difference in these stroker kits. The price will be the same with an Eagle kit so which should i go with? I drive the truck everysingle day and need it to not overheat or be unreliable. Any opinions? What if i just forged the 347. I am after maximum bang for the buck with good drivablility. Thanks

Neither, if built properly and tuned correctly, are un-reliable.
Its a matter of money really. No need for any engine to over heat if properly cooled.
Bang for the buck is hard to say, it's really tied to your budget.
Peronally I dont think you can beat a 408 these days for bang for the buck and driveabilty. I'm biased, of course, but I chose the 408 for a reason.
Re-building your 347 isnt a bad way to go, you wont have the power levels of a 408 but most likely not the cost either. A medium tempered 408 is an upper performing 347 as far as power goes. Not replacement for displacement.

If you have trhe Al block then go 383, if Fe then go 408. Both motors will make close to the same power if everything is in harmony, but the 383 will be a decent amount lighter (less weight is worth more to me than others)
