Spark plugs for HIGH compression, cam`d LS1
I need to pick out spark plugs for my Firehawk. The engine will be high compression, in the neighborhood 10.9:1 or 11.0:1. It will also have the `03 Z06 cam. What plug should I go with with this combination? I was told to gap at .30. Does that sound right?

.030 sounds alittle tight to me but i could be wrong. as for plugs you could switch to a colder plug like a tr6 or equivalent but personally i would think if your tune is close a stock heat range plug should't have any problems with being to hot with your scr @ 11:0

nice
actually I used the iridium spark plugs (NGK) and only got a year outta them. PLug weren't bad at all just worn out. I replaced with NGK TR55 and actually the car runs a little better. Didn't like the point of the iridium plug had either.

My car seems to run well on NGK plugs (standard temps) with 60 thou saved heads and +11-1 compression. As long as your ignition is putting out the high factory voltage, the plugs should not burn up fast. Obviuosly, the tune is critical too.
