Unhappy Car Hits The Rev Limiter at 5K and is set at 7K?

Like title says. My car has been having some issues. I was racing the other night and the rev limiter was hitting at 5500 rpms and is set at 7000 and shift light at 6800. I got home and scanned it and it says coil pack 2 was not firing. I put a new coil pack on and its not throwing a code but doing the same thing? Any suggestions?

Thanks

You need to scan for misfires, KR, check your fuel pressure and read plugs to find out where the problem is and start troubleshooting specifically. You have access to a scanner you can log with while driving?

Possibly your fuel pump going out and not keeping up. Or clogged filter.

The rev limiter is just that. When you hit the rev limiter it cuts fuel. So obviously if its like it is hitting the rev limiter than it is probably a fuel issue.

Possible misfire from lack of fuel?

I logged it and its not throwing any KR or anything unusual. It stopped and then started again. It has a different rev limiter in each gear. Ranging from 5500 to 6400 and the rev limiter is set to 7000

There are three sets of limiters - in gear, park/n, VSS fail. Make sure that all three are where you want them?
