stock suspension question?

This is the same idea behind removing your front sway bar (allowing more weight transfer) and using drag shocks like QA1 or Strange.
Flip side to it is the car will handle worse(sloppy, hard to control, snap oversteer, unpredictable), give little driver feedback and in some cases ride worse(shock compression too stiff).

well ive been hitting sacramento raceway about once a month with my car being lowered. my best time was a 13.8 but usually run 14 flats. i already took out the lowering springs and put the stock ones back on. so what should my quarter mile improve too. its basically stock a4.2.73, LT's,ory, full exhaust.

I'm glad this thread came up because I've heard it from a few people that the stock suspension has its good points and bad points.
In a relocation bracket thread, there was mentioning that rear weight transfer is bad. Not sure if that's solely due to the fact that you lose the control arm angle because of it or if there's another explaination. LCA's on a upward angle from axle to chassis cause the rear to lift on a launch.
I guess I've been thinking that you want a solid rear suspension, higher springrate, better damping shocks, along with a thick rear bar. The front you want to come upward.

you want the rear to squat and the front to lift.
Big rear bar is to help launch the car straight.
telling us the times you are running does not really help without the MPH and the 60ft. What tires are you running? I would assume with those mods you should be significantly faster than 13.8.

Then what's the point of using LCA relocation brackets since they can cause the rear end to lift if they are at a low enough angle at the axle? You wouldn't want the car to squat in that case I would think.
Not calling you out. I'm just interested in this subject for my own personal knowledge because I don't know the answer.

Right but I thought it was the front that likes the weight transfer. What is the deal with putting the relocation brackets in and the LCA's in the lowest hole? That would cause the rear to lift under a launch, no? And prevent weight transfer in the rear? I don't know really, these are pretty much questions and I'd like to know what the 1/4 mile cars like to have for suspension. I guess I'm kind of looking for details. Most people on here just want to know what's best and don't really care about why it's the best. That's what I care about

With the relocation brackets on a hard launch, the body in the rear moves up because the rear wheels are being planted into the ground...
Right?
...or else no one would use relocation brackets....

To the best of my knowledge you dont want the rear to squat. When the rear squats it is actually unloading the rear tires. You want the rear to have anti squat in a perfect world, which actually pushes the rear tires into the ground. You want the front to lift and the rear to stay put if you can.
