Here's my son's '89 we built together. Has an '02 LS-1 with LS-6 intake, TPIS ZL-11 cam,4L60E, SS3600 Yank, 9-bolt BW rear, CTS-V Brembos up front, wiring by Speartech. Ran 13.30's at 107 before converter and on 275 Nittos, going to try drag radials this year. Was in Car Craft magazine March this year.

I originally put an ls2 in mine, but pulled it back out to put a built l92 in. All tubular suspension, ls1 style brakes, coil overs, 10 point cage, glide with a Chance converter, and a ton of fabrication. It is still not finished.
LOTS of weight reduction!

Here's mine: https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/717503-finally-some-progress-my-third-gen.html

I haven't really had much time to mess with it lately. Got it running, needs to be tuned, interior needs to be finished, and I still have a few more body panels to paint.

I should be getting my new engine & transmission within the next 7-10 days or so, meaning that I'll start posting more pics around then... (Of course that also depends also on how much time I can get to actually work on the car...)

I've gotta say, there are some SWEET cars in this thread!!

Is this Ed? My car is still on jack stands, so I never went to see you while you were in Germany.

I honestly spent way too much money on the conversion. Aside from parts cost, the labor fee was twice more than I expected. I also pieced things together individually instead of getting a donor car. I bought a long block and purchased all the accessories one by one; an aftermarket kit would have been easier, look nicer and cost about the same. All the other parts were bought individually as well, I had about 90% of the parts when I dropped it off at High Speed.

nice lookin fbodies. Seems like the LS based engine fits better in the 3rd gen then in the 4th gen fbodies. Easier to work on and whatnot. For those that do or have owned both, is this true?

It is much easier to work on in a thirdgen, I can swap the plugs in the thirdgen in about 10 minutes. It took me over an hour to swap them in the 4thgen. There is just alot more room to play with in every direction.
