Most effective LT1 bolt ons?
what is the most effective bolt on for the money to start doing things to an LT1? What kind of HP increase could i expect? Basically where to start... Thanks...

Where to start... that's always different with everybody you ask. It really depends on your goals for the car though? I always start with headers though... just because it's a complete bitch and I like to get that out of the way.
I'm assuming you've done the free mods?
Most LT1 guys I talk to go with headers, CAI, and cat back as the first three mods...

The general opinion is usually intake and exhaust. I gotta say, after a full intake-exhaust on my car, it feels really nice. It seems like it got a pretty good amount of pickup off the mods, and thats always a good place to start. Get the engine breathing at its best before you go on to other mods. After that I moved on to a few suspension things, but if you have an auto, i might consider a stall. Once you get those outta the way....i wouldnt be opposed to heads and cam

You do what you want...and it depends on what kinda driving you plan on doing.
Personally, I think 4.10s in an auto is too much. Unless you don't mind 2750 rpms at 70mph.
4.10s are a blast, but in the 6-spd manual, with two ODs, it's more forgiving of freeway rpms and gas mileage.
I think 3.73s are the perfect auto gear ratio and 4.10s the perfect M6 ratio.
JMHO.

I would also go with 4.10's for a six speed. Although I gotta say, they make first gear pretty useless if you don't take real special care. For autos, 4.10 would be too much for me, I'm not exactly sure what you'd be cruising at on the highway, but I'm willing to bet its too high for my taste.

Im thinkin im going with 373's because i want the performance but dont wanna drive an 8mpg car either.. I drive my car around all the time in the summer so gas is a small factor... Do you guys know what the 1/4 mile difference might be between stock vs. 373. vs. 410? THANKS>>>>
