Stocker can support up to 500hp and if you tune your car its better to have the stock one when tuning it.But then again with your mods AC delco 85mm is the way to go.

The best MAF is no MAF at all. We upgrade MAF's to lower the restriction they impose. Why not just remove the restriction all together...

If you change your MAF, you need to have the car tuned.

You have to have your car tuned Speed Density. Do you have EFILive or HPTuners?

You could give him some more info than that on the SD..lol

You need to know what your doing or have it done for you.

SD vs MAF is a major battle on here, I'm not taking sides.

You could ruin your engine if you dont know what your doing very easily.

If your worried about restriction Texas Speed has a 100mm MAF (4") that you wont out flow in your application. Its a very nice unit.

85 mm truck MAF from ebay. Cost about 65$ take the screen off free. Smooth out rough edges for better flow 45 mins and sand paper. Tune an hour for me. If you dont tune see ^ above.

You also have the option to run poly MAF ends. I had them on my 99 Z and it loved them. Tried them on my 02 and it ran like crap at idle... screamed up top. I removed it though. My stocker with no screen is just fine for my application.

sorry but Im not convinced the stock is the way to go with the infamous MAF phenominon. I have both the stock screaned, and a ported MAF which has been ported to the MAX. its been ported so much the rubber seals are barely staying in its crazy ported. anyhow Im stumpped on the tunning of this POS but Im still running it over the stock screaned one, because my turbo spools so much faster its rediculous and the top end power is extremely noticeable. example in 4th gear with the ported MAF role on the throttle and she lights the tires up over 80 mph. stock MAF it slowly spools the turbo and barely lights up the tires in 3rd if at all. however its all over the board when it comes to just driving around. so not to step on someone elses thread Im just not convinced with the stock being the best way to go. ~Guy

ps: any help with tuning this highly ported MAF would be appreciated. Ive read almost every thread in here on MAFs and I dont feel I have a real understanding yet.

If you have a turbo you are better off without ANY MAF and running a proper 2 or 3 bar SD tune if you are in the range of 7+ psi as you will be maxing it out anyway.
