Default 608 rwhp 346ci

Well to start off i have to thank George from J and G tuning along with J and J Performance for helping me with my dyno and nitrous needs. The dyno was a DynoJet 224 non load dyno with a temperature of 90 degrees and 8% humidity.

Now the setup

It is a 1999 Chevy Camaro SS M6.
100% bone stock short block (stock block, rods, pistons, rings, bearings, oil pump, and timing chain) that has 84000 miles on the clock.

Performance: T-rex cam, 243 stock valve size patriot heads, gold springs, trickflow 7.400 pushrods, comp R lifters, Tr6 plugs, 10.4 taylor wires, victor jr single plain non ported out of the box, wilson manifold carb nitrous plate, custom sheet metal intake elbow, NW 90mm tb, custom 4" pipe to run from the tb to slp lid (speed density tune), FLP long tubes from 2000 (old style) to custom 3"y to 4" exhaust all the way through the back with a flowmaster muffler (nice race one not the 40 series), m6 built by t56 rebuilds, 3" steel driveshaft, moser 9" with spool and 4.10 gears, full suspension, clutch is a ram powergrip HD ( that slipped three times on the dyno) and 27" tall et streets.

Nitrous: NOS 10 pound with hiflow valve to a 6an line to a NX nitrous sileniod to 3an line to plate kit and a 4an system with NOS fuel sileniod from the fuel rails. The jets used where 65 nitrous side and 38 fuel side which is a 125 shot (suppose to be anyways).

Now the dyno:

All motor with 29 degress of timing made 438.1 rear wheel horsepower at 6500 rpm and 391.3 rear wheel torque at 5200 rpm.

At 23 degrees of timing (the tuner pulled 6 degrees) and 1025 psi made 608.4 rear wheel horsepower at 6700 rpm and 634.6 rear wheel torque at 4600 rpm.

I know there will be people that probably say BS but that is okay with me, I was there along with three others and two guys who own the dyno. I just wanted to write this to help others see that the T-rex cam witha single plain loves nitrous.

Long live the T-rex cam

If people want dyno graphs or pics of the motor or car let me know and I can email them, have to wait to fet to a scanner. Just for the record, my tuner is the main tuner for Haddad motorsports and is a complete legit tuner.

Hey Charles!

I looked up some calculators and it comes up as a 160-165 shot, as mentioned. Either way, very impressive for your setup. Glad I was able to help you out, we will get your new setup dailed in when it is ready.

When I hit the nitrous, it hit hard and rev'ed to 6500 quickly. The nitrous passes were started from ~3000, no need to start any lower since the car won't see less then that at the track.

thanks george, for some reason the jets are written down in the instructions and holley.com as a 125 shot, but the 160 makes more sense.

if this motor saw that power i cant wait for the new 6.6 on nitrous.

wow i was expecting people to say that a stock short block could not do 600 rwhp but i guess not. i have a feeling it will last for about 10 passes until boom.

Very believable. Congrats on the strong numbers. Glad to see you pulled timing for that size shot. Your ringlands will thank you.
