Look up Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF) on . You should find everything you need to know there.

i teach at a place or OC, check out OCMT.org, if thats too far they should have info on where the closer schools are, or check the MSF website

the ninja 6s are great starter bikes, i peronally like them, some people say they feel to much like a track bike, try to find people in your area with gsxr6s r6s and the ninja and ride them around for a few minutes to see which one you feel more comfortable on

If you're under 21 the course is $150. If you're over 21 the course is $250.

Go to the DMV, take your permit test. Then take the MSF course, then go right back to the DMV and they give you a Interim Drivers License until yours comes in the mail. Usually takes about 7-10 business days for the license to come in the mail if you are getting a California DL for the first time, but you probably aren't so, I believe they still have to mail you a new copy to have the M1 on there.

Oh and the R6's are good bikes but they feel really weird sitting on them. Not comfortable at all, but one would argue that Sportbikes aren't made to be comfortable, which is true, but there still has to be a happy medium. Get a Gixxer!

There are I believe 5 different versions of the test. It's $28 to take the test. In one day you can take it 3 times but if you fail all 3, you have to come back and repay the $28 if you try again.

Just go to the DMV, get the book, read it over a couple of times, and you'll be just fine. Most of it is common sense.

yep as blackhawk said you msf is the easiest. However you can get your license doing the riding test at the dmv but i've heard its a lot harder then the class. Consequently, if you are under 21 you have to take msf to get your license which is what i did since i got my license at 18. Its not hard what i did for the written i figured if i fail 2 times i'll study. I failed the first time but passed the second. The class i only saw 2 people fail the class. 1 was a lady that had no concept of how a clutch worked and the other was some dumb old guy that kept falling lol on the little 250 rebels they provide. I took the msf course in Cerritos college.

also it may be easier if you take your written test after you take the class since in the class you also cover the material that will be in the test. so once you pass the class go take your written test and mail in the certificate they give you and you got yourself a license.

you can take the msf class without a permit, wait for u dl389 (i believe thats the form, its the exempt from the dmv riding test) and take ur permit test and turn in the form on the same day
