Not too familiar with LT1's but I do know socks are like only a couple of Dollars for a big bag of em'. Sorry I know it sucks when sh*t doesn't fit right. Hopefuly it will get resolved, but I know the time it takes for the process sucks. best of luck

Looks like it's time to upgrade the socks, big toe on the left bank is running lean!

And for the OFI stuff, umm... thats not looking right! For 7 G's, I'd be a little torqued about that also. Hopefully Joel will jump in and fix this problem without issue.

Hmmmm.... even though the ports seem to match up, the end bolt holes on the flange are not even close.

Have you tried to contact Joel about this fitment issue in a non-public manner prior to posting this?

^ The ports don't match up. That's the thing. LT1 heads have D shaped exhaust runners. The header he received is an oval port header.

Jo....there is nothing wrong with your headers. They bolt up to the LT1 with no proplem. The flange is a oval port which is what stainless works uses on all there LT1 headers sense its much easier to fab up. That is where I get my flanges from.

Your pictures up above ....if you look at your heads you will see that there are 2 holes on the front cylinder and the back cylinder. The headers do line up with the holes. I would never ship something like that. I have built all my LT1 kits this way and have had no proplems. I even have pictures of your kit on the car before I shipped it out.

The gasket that you have in the pic will not work. Those look like stock gaskets and you need the aftermarket ones like mr.gaskets. Almost all after market gaskets have the holes that you need. The gasket will seal against the flange and the head. Your gasket is also 1 5/8 which is the stock port size. You need a gasket for headers which are 1 3/4 and it will seal fine.

I also would of liked it if you would of contacted me about this before posting. I just got your email a little bit a go and responded to it. Here are some pics of your kit on the shop mock up car before shipping.

Thanks Joel

The bolt holes are fine. There are 'extra' bolt holes for the exhaust manifolds on the heads (for some strange reason) on LT1's. Now the ports, I dunno. My LT1 heads have been ported but still have the "D" port. I bought a set of RealQuicks hotparts for my kit and they were the "O"val port. He sent a post to me after I got them stating that a customer had sent him some pics showing the lower edge of the flange was off the bottom of the exhaust port and thus exposed to 'air'. The pictures were showing the exhaust soot that was actually on the outside of the head on every port. Jon (RealQuick) asked me to send the pipes back to him and he redid the flanges to the "D" shape and is shipping them back tomorrow, no cost to me.

Found a couple of the pics...

Looks like this one is nipped in the bud. It would have been nice to talk to Joel first though.
